Overview of B/W Gobo technologies (FAQ):
Drix manufactures etchable aluminum-on-glass
gobo materials for use in the lighting industry.
Such blank (unpatterned) gobo's consist
of a substrate of borosilicate glass, covered with a metal
layer and optionally positive photoresist.
These gobo's are manufactured in various
sizes to accomodate different lighting fixtures.
There are two methods for patterning
gobo’s:
- Laser
ablation.
- Chemical
etching.
Chemical patterning can be done by
exposing through a film with ultraviolet light, then the
photoresist layer is developed, after that the aluminum
layer is etched and then the photoresist layer is stripped.
Full technical support is available for correct chemical
processing and etching with high resolution, high
consistency and low defect count.
Some of the Drix materials are suitable
for laser ablation, others are suitable for chemical
etching.
